Farming

The estate has belonged to the Hill family since 1890, and the current owner, Christopher Hill, is the fourth generation to farm it. He has been involved in farming all his life and, along with farm manager Steve Johnson, offers a highly personal, professional service. Intense attention to detail is the norm.

The farm, which includes much ancient woodland, a five-acre lake and has the River Blackwater flowing through it, comprises 4,000 acres of gently undulating countryside. All combinable crops are grown plus sugar beet and borage.

Agricultural contracting for clients in Essex, Suffolk, and Hertfordshire

The estate undertakes agricultural contracting for clients in Essex, Suffolk, and Hertfordshire and uses the latest farming machinery including a Sumo direct drill and 360 diggers for ditching and drainage that provide an efficient and quick service with excellent results.

The highest levels of farming practice and procedure are expected and maintained across the estate with a commitment to the environment at the forefront of all farming decisions.
